MAD RIVER BREWING COMPANY has been showered with awards over the last few months. Of course, their STEELHEAD and JAMAICA ales have been award winners since the brewery opened in 1989.
The latest awards came from the CALIFORNIA STATE FAIR COMMERCIAL CRAFT BREWERS COMPETITION held on June 24th of this year. JAMAICA SUNSET IPA and STEELHEAD EXTRA PALE both received BRONZE awards, and STEELHEAD SCOTCH PORTER and JAMAICA RED both received SILVER AWARDS. The competition was very stiff considering the huge number of quality beers produced in the state of CALIFORNIA.
The United States Beer Tasting Championship showered praise on the MAD RIVER brew crew by awarding JAMAICA RED with two prestigious titles. JAM RED received the GRAND CHAMPION award and THE BEST OF CALIFORNIA award in the AMBER/RED ALE category. To add a little more head swelling for the brew crew the USBTC also awarded STEELHEAD EXTRA PALE ALE with the BEST OF CALIFORNIA award in the PALE ALE category.
Brian Baku marketing coordinator at the brewery said that the passion and unique qualities of the entire staff are what make Mad River brews such consistent award winners. The brewery has stayed true to the mission of producing the highest quality ales with the freshest ingredients.
