Mad River Brewing Company has been showered with awards from the “United States Beer Tasting Championship.” For the second year in a row our Jamaica Red Ale has been named both Best of California and National Grand Champion in the amber ale category.

The competition included a field of 398 beers from 151 brewers across the country. The USTBC is an independent judging that is known for honoring only the finest beers with awards. This was their ninth annual summer judging.

Brew Master Bob Smith was quoted as saying “I am thrilled that our Jamaica Red has received a second consecutive National Grand Champion award from a group of judges who are as passionate about great beer as I am.” Bob founded Mad River Brewing Company in 1991 with the introduction of “Steelhead Extra Pale Ale”. The brewery currently produces five brews year round along with a seasonal barley wine under the “John Barleycorn” label. You can find Steelhead Extra Pale Ale, Steelhead Scotch Porter, Steelhead Extra Stout along with Jamaica Red Ale and Jamaica Sunset IPA in retail stores and tap rooms. Mad River products are distributed in 14 states.
