Our Red Rules!

This year’s United States Beer Tasting Championship (USBTC) awarded top honors in the California Amber Ale division to Mad River Brewing Company’s Jamaica Brand Red Ale. The Sixth Annual competition took place in East Aurora, New York on July 1-2, 2000.

522 beers from 202 breweries were examined across the 10 different beer categories, and in the California Amber Ale division, the highly celebrated Jamaica Brand Red Ale tore the roof off the competition, leaving beers from Anderson Valley and other California microbreweries in its fiery wake.

Mad River Brewing Company’s latest addition to the Jamaica Brand line - Jamaica Sunset West Indies Pale Ale - blasted its way into the runner up slot in the California India Pale Ale division, proving our version of a rich, hoppy ale is here to stay.
